Vehicle X-ray scanner in service at Talas North Terminal

From 10 June a vehicle X-ray scanner is in service at the Talas North Terminal crossing on the Kazakh frontier. Until now lorries at this crossing were inspected by hand where there was cause.
A lorry is scanned in about four minutes; the driver waits in the waiting area. The image is examined by an inspector at the post, and a physical inspection is ordered only where the image or the papers give cause.
The scanner was acquired from the budget of the Zone. Staff of the post completed training on it at the Terminal in May.
